The Taj Mahal, AgraDay 3: Delhi – Agra (By road - 4 hours drive, including stop at Sikandra)
Morning, drive for 4 hours to Agra. En route stop at Sikandra 10 kms before Agra, to see the Mausoleum of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This building has an excellent Muslim architecture, which is very evidently visible in the subsequent Mughal buildings, including the Taj Mahal. From here we proceed to Agra. Check in to the hotel of your choice. Afternoon, visit the Agra Fort, a standing testimony in red sandstone to the glory of the Great Mughal.. At sunset, visit the famous Taj Mahal - one of the Wonders of the World, poetry in marble and a symbol of eternal love.

Note: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

Day 4 Agra – Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur ( By road – 5 hours drive, including stop at Fatehpur Sikri )
Morning depart for Agra a 5 hours drive through the vast farmlands of Uttar Pradesh to Jaipur. En route visit the Fatehpur Sikri - the ghost capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, built entirely of red sandstone and now declared as a World Heritage Monument. In sharp contrast stands the pristine white marble monument to Salim Chisti, Akbar's teacher, who granted him his wish for a son. It is here that wishes come true when you tie a string on the marble lattice. On arrival in Jaipur, check in to the hotel of your choice. Afternoon car will be at your disposal.

Day 5: Jaipur

Morning we leave for the fairy tale like Amber Fort, where you ascend the hill like a Maharaja on the back of an elephant. The honey-comb designed Hawa Mahal also known as the Palace of Wind from where the royal ladies, who lived in seclusion, observed life on the outside yet remained hidden inside.
