Floating Palace - Overnight River Ride

| This is an overnight trip along the backwaters of Goa. The
Floating Palace is a wooden houseboat built in a typical Kerala
"Rice boat" design with hull made of wooden planks fastened
together with coir ropes. Floating Palace is Goa's first rice boat and
the biggest of its kind in India. |

The trip begins late afternoon, after tea on board we
cruise along the sleepy historic villages of Goa along the banks of the
river Mandovi and past Panjim, the capital city. We arrive at the mouth
of the river for a wonderful sunset over the bay. After sunset we cruise
inland and anchor for the night near the mangroves of River Mandovi. |
| We wine
and dine in a romantic atmosphere while you gaze at the stars and the moon. You
will be entertained by games until we sit down for a sumptious dinner. |

Afterwards we settle down in the spacious cabins to the gentle rocking of the
boat.
Early risers can experience the sunrise and observe the varied birdlife of
the National Bird Sanctuary along the wonderful island of Chorao. Following
breakfast we cruise along the estuaries of River Mandovi. Sundecks allow us to
relax and watch the Cumbarjua canal. Fishing rods are available for those who
want to try their luck at fishing.

The cruise ends after
lunch of Goan specialties and a continental dishes. We then dock at Old Goa for
a guided tour of the old city, also known as the Rome of the Orient.
Old Goa boasts of
many majestic churches
including the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus which houses the remains of St.
Francis Xavier. After our tour we will transport you back to your hotel.

The floating palace houses 4 spacious cabins with modern toilets and showers.
Each room is around 140 sq. ft and contains a full sized comfortable double bed,
the room is also equipped with a shelf, Italian cane furniture and the attached
