This
is a 18 day / 17 night tour. Covering Delhi, Samode, Mandawa,
Khimsar, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Rohegarth, Mount Abu,
Kumbalgarth, Udaipur, Roopangarth, Jaipur, Agra,
Delhi.

Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
Met at the airport on arrival in Delhi and transfer to a hotel of your choice. Day at
leisure.
Deluxe : Le Meridien First Class : Vasant Continental.
Day 02 : Delhi - Samode
Early morning depart for Samode Palace by surface. A 6 hours drive. On arrival at this
grand Palace, a traditional Indian welcome awaits you with garlands and saffron tilaks
(holy marks on the forehead).
Heritage : Samode Palace.
Day 03 : Samode - Mandawa
A 5 hours drive. On arrival check-in to a old castle, now converted into a Heritage hotel.
Afternoon, walk through this small Village, with it's ancient houses and traditional wall
paintings. This region of Shekhawati, is also called the open air art-gallery of India,
due to the intricate wall painting on the old Haveli (mansions). These mansions were owned
by rich merchants who acquired their wealth when this region fell on the old trading Silk
Route with China and West Asia.
Heritage : Castle Mandawa.
Day 04 : Mandawa - Nagaur - Khimsar Morning visit the surrounding
villages and towns of Mandawa to see the painted Haveli and see the lifestyle of people
inhabiting them. Depart for Khimsar, a 6 hours drive. On arrival check-in to the Royal
Castle Khimsar Fort.
Heritage : Royal Castle Khimsar Fort.
Day 05 : Khimsar - Ossian - Jaisalmer
A 8 hours drive across the great Thar Desert to the gigantic living fort of
Jaisalmer,
ethereally rising out of the sand, and home to several intricately carved
Haveli´s. The
architecture of these Haveli´s are distinctly different from those in
Mandawa. Enroute we
will visit the Jain temples at Ossian. On arrival check-in at hotel of your choice.

Day 06 : Jaisalmer :
Full day exploring the Jaisalmer fort and the Havalis. Evening optional excursion to Sam
sand dunes for a camel ride in the desert, against the backdrop of a spectacular sunset.
Enroute to Sam we will also visit a Village of musicians, who have been traditionally
practicing their art for the last several centuries.
Day 07 : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
About 7 hours drive to Jodhpur. Evening at leisure. Optional barbecue dinner at a
restaurant located in a rock garden. On arrival check-in at hotel of your choice.

Day 08 : Jodhpur
Morning visit the Mehrangarh fort and Jaswant Thada (royal cenotaphs). Afternoon free at
leisure, or an optional excursion to Luni to see weavers and craftsman in their native
habitat.
Day 09 : Jodhpur - Rohetgarh
A drive of 2 hours bring us to Rohetgarh. Afternoon optional Jeep Safaris to the
surrounding villages at Rohet. On arrival check-in at Rohetgarh Palace. Heritage :
Rohetgarh Palace.
Day 10 : Rohetgarh - Mt. Abu
Morning drive for 5 hours to Mt.Abu, a popular and only hill Resort (1720 meters) in
Rajasthan, with a lake in the center of the town. Late afternoon: visit the Dilwara Jain
temples which reflect some of the finest architecture of Jain Culture.
First Class : Hillock & Connaught House.
Day 11 : Mt. Abu - Ranakpur - Kumbalgarh
Drive through the remote and peaceful Aravalli Valley to reach the white marble Jain
temples of Ranakpur, another set of architectural masterpieces. After a couple of hours
halt at Ranakpur we will proceed for Kumbalgarh. Total time including the halt will be 6
hours.
On arrival check-in at Hotel Heritage : Hotel Aodhi.
Day 12 : Kumbalgarh - Udaipur
A total 4 hours drive. On arrival at Udaipur check-in to a hotel of your choice. Evening
optional boat ride on the Lake Pichola, surrounding the fabled Lake Palace.

Day 13 : Udaipur - Roopangarh
Morning half day city tour of Udaipur including the City Palace, Sahalion ki Bari (Garden
where women of the Royal household would meet) and the Jagat Temple. Afternoon drive of
about 230 Km (6 hours) to Roopangarh Fort. Close by is Ajmer, one the holiest centers of
Islam and Pushkar where world famous Fair takes place every year.
Heritage : Roopangarh Fort
Day 14 : Roopangarh - Pushkar - Jaipur
Morning we visit Pushkar enroute to Jaipur. A total 6 hours drive including the halt at
Pushkar. On arrival check-in at hotel of your choice.

Day 15 : Jaipur
Morning visit the Amer Fort, as the Maharajas did during medieval times, on elephant back.
Afternoon city tour of Jaipur visiting the City Palace of the Jaipur Maharaja, the Hawa
Mahal (Palace of Winds) and the Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory). Evening free to walk
the bazaars of the city.
Day 16 : Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
Morning departure for Agra by surface. A 6 hours drive through the farmlands of Uttar
Pradesh State. Enroute we will halt at the ghost capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar
Fatehpur Sikri, built entirely of red sandstone and now declared as a World Heritage
Monument. On arrival at Agra check-in to the hotel of your choice. Afternoon visit the
fabulous Taj Mahal : Symbol of eternal love and one of the 'Wonders of the World', and the
Agra Fort, a standing testimony in red sandstone to the glory of the Great
Mughals.

Day 17 : Agra - Sikandra - Delhi
Morning depart for Delhi, a 6 hours drive. Afternoon city tour of
Old Delhi which includes Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi 92s Memorial), the Jama Masjid
(Universal Mosque), the Red Fort and fabled Chandni Chowk (Silver Street). Late afternoon
take a cycle rickshaw ride through the bylines of Old Delhi, to see all its color and
cultural diversity. performance against the backdrop of ancient ruins.

Day 18 : Delhi Departure
After breakfast city tour of New Delhi which includes the Qutub Minar, Emperor Humayun's Tomb, the Houses of Parliament and the Presidential Palace.
Afternoon at leisure. Late evening transfer to the international airport to board the
onward flight.
