This 9 day / 8 night tour covers Delhi, Mandawa, Jaipur, Agra, Khajuraho, Varanasi.

Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
Met at the airport on arrival in Delhi and transferred to Hotel. Afternoon city tour of old Delhi which includes Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhis Memorial), the Jama Masjid (Universal Mosque), the Red Fort and fabled Chandni Chowk (Silver Street). Late afternoon take a cycle rickshaw ride through the bylanes of Old Delhi, to see all its color and cultural diversity.

Day 02 : Delhi
After breakfast city tour of new Delhi which includes the Qutub Minar, Emperor Humayuns Tomb, the Houses of Parliament and the Presidential Palace. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 03 : Delhi - Mandawa
Morning drive for 7 hours to Mandawa through the industrial belt of Haryana State and small towns of Rajasthan. On arrival check-in at a old castle, now converted into a Heritage hotel. Afternoon, walk through this small Village, with it 92s ancient houses and traditional wall paintings. This region is also called the open air art-gallery of India.

Day 04 : Mandawa - Jaipur
A 4 hours drive, with a halt at Fatehpur to see some more fabulously painted houses, brings us to Jaipur also widely known as the Pink City. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon free to walk through the colorful bazaars of this city.

Day 05 : Jaipur : Morning visit the Amer Fort, as the Maharajas did during medieval times, on elephant back. Afternoon city tour of Jaipur visiting the City Palace of the Jaipur Maharaja, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and the Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory). Evening visit a typical Indian Home.

Day 06 : Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
Morning departure for Agra by surface. A 6 hours drive through the vast farmlands of Uttar Pradesh State. En route we will visit the Ghost Capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar Fatehpur Sikri, built entirely of red sandstone and now declared as a World Heritage Monument. On arrival at Agra check-in to the hotel. Afternoon visit to Taj Mahal : Symbol of eternal love and one of the "Wonders of the World", and the Agra Fort.

Day 07 : Agra - Khajuraho
Morning transfer to the airport to board flight to Khajuraho, a city of Living Temples. On arrival check-in to the hotel. Afternoon visit the architectural marvels of "The Khajuraho Temples". These Hindu temples with erotic carvings were built 1000 years ago with art and architecture merged to perfection.

Day 08 : Khajuraho - Varanasi
Morning at leisure. Afternoon transfer to the airport to board flight to Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world, contemporary of Thebes and Babylon. It is also one of the holiest Hindu cities and still thriving on its religious past. Afternoon at leisure.
First Class : Taj Ganges & Clarks Varanasi

Day 09 : Varanasi - Delhi Departure
Early Morning boat ride on the Holy River Ganges to see the devout praying and bathing on the Ghats (Banks), with funeral pyres burning in the distance. After breakfast tour of the bylanes and temples of the city. Afternoon transfer to the airport for onward flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi transfer to international airport to board the flight for onward journey.

Our prices, in US$, are based for one person sharing a double room, with American breakfast. (We can also offer the same tour, but using accommodation in 3/4 star hotels or any Super Deluxe hotel of your choice. Please contact us for further details)

Our prices include:

• All transfers from and to airport and land transportation, as per the program by non air-conditioned Ambassador Car / Tata Sumo (jeep) or Tempo Traveler (minibus), depending upon the group size, throughout the tour.
• Non air-conditioned  room.

• Entrance fee at the monuments.
• Services of local english - speaking guide for sightseeing tours at all places.
• Services of an english-speaking tour escort above 6 persons throughout the tour.
• All currently prevailing taxes on hotel and transport.

• Local Guide at each city except Mandawa.
• Elephant ride in Jaipur.
• Early morning boat ride in Varanasi.

Our prices do not include:

• Airport tax on departure from India (500 rupees/person)
• Any personal expenses like telephone call, laundry shopping, table drinks, camera fees at the monuments.
• Any additional expenses caused by disturbances in the trip due to circumstances beyond our control such as airline and railway delays, road blocks, natural disaster, wars, etc.
