Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Orcha - Khajuraho - Gwalior Delhi
This tour connects Delhi with towns like Jaipur, Fathepur Sikri and
Agra. Experience the north of India with its fascinating culture, the pulsating life in
the bazaars of New Delhi, the magic 'pink city' of Jaipur and the worlds most
photographed monument "Taj Mahal' in Agra. Further attractions are the temples in
Orcha, Khajuraho and the fortress in Gwalior.
Itinerary
India, a country of continental dimensions
welcomes you to this country of great variety, with many highlights in culture and
landscape. In this very different culture of mysteries and mysticism, people developed
amazing solutions to manage their everyday life. In India, next to these people, whose
life is destined by deep religiousness, the attentive visitor feels nearer to the essence
of being. Especially now, India is thrilling since a forced opening to the West causes
clear changes in social life.

Day 1. Delhi Arrival early morning, transfer to clean hotel
YMCA, centrally located, with escalator, rooms with A/C, bathroom doors are approx. 68 cm
wide. First impressions of India during city sightseeing tour in the afternoon.
Day 2 : Delhi - National Museum in the morning, short city
tour, visit busy Chandi Chowk bazaar in the afternoon.
Day 3 : Delhi - Jaipur Travel to Jaipur (approx. 4 hours
drive). Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan and famous for his pink city walls and
facades, also named 'Pink City'. Besides its famous for jewellery and miniature paintings.
City tour at the afternoon, with 'Palace of Winds', overnight stay in Jaipur Palace Hotel
or in one of the Maharadscha Palaces Bissau or Diggi. The rooms are very individual there
with a lot of ambience.
Day 4 : Jaipur Strolling through the busy bazaar quarter in
bicycle rickshaws. Afternoon, one of the most beautiful cinemas in Asia, possibility to
see a typical Indian movie in this extraordinary cinema.
Day 5 : Jaipur - Amber - Jaipur Half day trip to the near
fort Amber with elephant ride to the palace. Free time for shopping in the afternoon.
Day 6 : Jaipur - Bharatpur In the morning travelling to Bharatpur, most beautiful birds reserve in India. In the afternoon bicycle rickshaw tour
through the Keoladeo national park. Overnight stay in the Hotel Prapat Palace at
Bharatpur, near to the park.
Day 7 : Bharatpur - Fatepur Sikri - Agra Enjoying the special
high spirits of this park at early morning times (2 hours roundtrip through park). After
breakfast short trip to palace 'Fatepur Sikri' constructed by red sand stone. This
abandoned Mughal city has a copy of the mosque in Mekka. Arrival Agra in the afternoon,
seeing the Taj Mahal at sunset. Overnight stay at the Mayur Tourist Complex, all
accommodations at ground level, villa style with big park and swimming pool, sufficient
dimensions everywhere or in a First Class Hotel, absolutely suitable to handicapped
persons, with electronic operating beds (surcharge $ 34 per person - recommended).
Day 8 : Agra Second visit to the Taj Mahal, then trip to the
Red Fort and the Pearl Mosque, which is the most important marble mosque of the world. The
fort is known as one of the largest fortifications of the world. Visiting 'Baby
Taj' in
the afternoon. Itimad-ud-Daulah is a smaller tomb, charming also with less crush.
Day 9 : Agra ( from here return to Delhi possible ) In the
morning Travel to Sikandra, tomb of Great Akbar. Afternoon on own disposal at the pool or
for shopping.
Day 10 : Agra - Jhansi In the morning time transfer to Hotel
Jhansi, a simple ground level hotel with friendly familiar atmosphere. Journey to Orcha in
the late afternoon (15 km), located in jungle landscape, enjoying the evening charm.
Day 11 : Jhansi - Orcha - Khajuraho In the morning drive to Orcha, investigating the rests of a medieval town under partly difficult conditions. Then
Travel on to Khajuraho, arrival late afternoon. Overnight stay in Hotel
Jhankar, short
trip through the small idyllic town.
Day 12 : Khajuraho Detailed sightseeing of the temples, overloaded
with sculptures of the Indian mythology, nestling in a beautiful park landscape. Not only
the famous erotic motives of the temple sculptures testify an overwhelming joie de vivre.
Day 13 : Khajuraho Time to relax and to visit the town.
Return flight to Delhi in the afternoon. Or, eventually return to Delhi by driving via
Gwalior, then journey to Gwalior at 14th day.
Day 14/15 : Delhi Sightseeing Delhi in the afternoon.
Departure flight during night.
