 Itinerary
Day
1
5 hours drive to the new
eco Resort in Dandeli. Dandeli wildlife sanctuary is a tiger reserve which also
harbours leopard, deer, elephant and gaur. Kali River Resort is a new Eco Resort,
on the banks of the Kali River and offers a scenic location, comfortable tents with light and
fans and bath (stone building), or rustic hotel rooms.
Morning safari and boat
trip. Afternoon river rafting possible (optional). Full board.
Day 2
Dandeli Safari
Day 3
Drive to Hampi one
of the 3 world heritage sites in South India. (Mahabalipuram and Tanjore are the
others). Hampi, once the seat of the great Vijajanagara Empire, was enormously
wealthy `greater than Rome` with a
market full of jewellery and palaces plated with gold. It was defended by a
large army (500,000 soldiers). Overnight accommodation is located very close to the
monuments direct in
Hampi. A/C Rooms.
Day 4
Full day sightseeing
Hampi. Monuments around a 26 kmē area. A main highlight will be the Vitthala temple,
a world heritage monument.
Day 5 Drive to Badami
Sunset at the lake
Day 6 Visit
Aihole and Pattakal, Mahakuta. This places are widely regarded as the
birthplace of the Indian temple architecture style.
Day 7 drive back to Goa
